NZi3, the New Zealand ICT Innovation Institute, is organised by industry themes, with each theme having its own Theme Advisory Board.
As a tertiary institution, the University of Canterbury’s existing governance structures are ultimately responsible for the performance and management arrangements of NZi3. However, NZi3 has its own Board of Directors to ensure alignment with the interests of industry, students and the Government.
NZi3's Director, Hamish House, reports to the Director of Research and Innovation and is responsible for the overall strategy, management and operation of the Institute.
Theme Leaders are reporting through Heads of Departments as usual and are responsible for management of research contracts.
Management services such as HR and finance are provided by the existing offices of the University.
